We’re so excited to share Katie’s literary themed wedding, plus her lace and tulle aline wedding dress, since she’s the first bride to be featured in this wedding gown! Katie shopped with TaMiko at our Long Beach bridal store in July of 2015. She was looking for some with lace and sleeves for the 150 guest event. We found her the perfect gown to match her vision!
Katie is a librarian and loves books, so their themed wedding fit them perfectly. She wrote, “I would love to tell you about Rob’s and my big day! We got married June 10th 2016 at Orcutt Ranch in Chatsworth California. We had planned a literary dream of a wedding, and the decorations were themed around the beautiful bookcases Rob’s father built for us. For decorations we collected old books to use for the centerpieces, and I created the table numbers from books in my own collection. I also had my family and friends gift me their favorite books during my bridal shower, and those surrounded us during our ceremony. Rather than a unity candle, we had a wine blending ceremony, using wines from the vineyards of Ken Brown. This event was a group effort to put together, many of my family and friends allowed me to utilize their skills and services for the catering (hanna-que Inc), cake, flowers, design, and hair and make up (beauty by Susan) , my cousin’s best friend was even my wedding coordinator (events by M&M). The one vendor that wasn’t a friend quickly became one. Jaime Davis photography truly gave me the most amazing photos, and I recommend her to anyone and everyone I meet. Our wedding was a complete dream, it was everything I had hoped, and my dress by Strut Bridal made me feel like I was in a fairy tale. Every detail was perfect.”
The location was so incredible for the bridal party portraits, but what really wowed us was Katie’s attention to detail. She MADE these table numbers out of books by carefully folding back pages!!
