Raquel was one of the first brides who ever shopped at Strut. She was also our first "serial visitor". She worked nearby and liked to have lunch at the old My Florist Cafe, so she'd often stop by and say hello. Not to us, though, so much as her wedding dress. Yep, all in, I think Raquel visited Her Dress about six times before committing. But when she finally bought her wedding gown, she loved it. Here are some photos from her day!
Raquel wore a ball gown wedding dress by Allure Bridals. She chose the two tone version in diamond white with a cummerbund in cafe. Her wedding gown was in satin.
Because Raquel is on the shorter side (5'2", I think!), we had to be careful with the proportions of her wedding gown. If the skirt was too big and full, it could swallow her and make her look shorter. In the end, Raquel had her wedding dress skirt taken in on the sides, and she had the train altered off. We love photos of real brides!
With the extra material from her wedding dress, Raquel was able to create this matching wrap, which covered her upper arms. While we know that some plus size brides want to cover their arms or shoulders, we often recommend wraps over a bolero for your wedding dress because boleros can sometimes be VERY warm (especially in satin!).
We love the bold purple bridesmaid dresses! Thanks, Raquel, for sharing these photos with us (you look beautiful!), for your visits, and for referring Magda (on the right) as a Strut bride, too! Best wishes to you and your hubby!
