You could get a pair of flip flops with sparkles on them. You could… After all, this is Arizona, and we go pretty casual year round. But, from a recent bride to an upcoming bride, let me just just ask for one small favor: get yourself some sexy pumps for the ceremony, and save the flops for the reception.
"But I can't walk in heels!" you might be protesting. Ah, but my secret to being able to wear high high shoes is this: get something with an ankle strap. That way they won't come off your heel. Easy! Like this pair I'm currently lusting after:
Brides, getting cool wedding shoes is one of the easiest ways to personalize your wedding. Want to incorporate purple into your outfit somehow? Shoes! Love a bit of sparkle? Get some beaded shoes! Have a western flair? Get boots! The best part is that you can wear these special shoes again. Truly. Pair them with a little black dress or dark jeans.
Plus, if you're an avid wedding magazine reader (like me!), you'll want that "wedding shoe shot". You know the one–the shoes are artfully placed on a chair, bench, in front of a funky textured wall, etc. I know most people won't even seen them under your wedding dress, but that's ok. You can just show them (I did!).
So where can you find beautiful wedding shoes? I love Nordstrom's shoe department. But if I'm on a budget, I'll probably hit DSW. If you want to splurge, check out Zappos (they have great reviews and tons of photos of the shoes) or Piperlime. Here's my latest drool-worthy wedding gown shoe selection from Piperlime:
Piperlime has a whole section for wedding shoes, so check them out. And remember, you'll need The Shoes for your wedding dress fittings, so we get just the right length skirt, so start your search after you order your wedding gown. And, of course, try to break them before the big day.
Happy shoe hunting!

Hi Ann! Enjoyed this post and shared it with a friend. She mentioned that the next post you do should be how to WALK in heels – gracefully. In other words, how to not walk down the aisle like a T-Rex or Lumberjack!

Hm, that’s a tough one since I still make Jason hold my hand for balance! LOL. I’ll see what I can dig up though! 🙂
