Introducing our darling bride Caitlin, who married the man of her dreams on November 9th, 2018 in a lace and taffeta ballgown. Caitlin found us because her best friend, also her Maid of Honor, got married in April of the previous year, and found her gown at Strut Bridal Salon in Long Beach. We are always so deeply honored when our brides refer their loved ones to us!
When Caitlin came to Strut in February of 2018, she wanted to find and fall in love with a wedding gown that was simple, classic, fun, and gave her the ability to be comfortable and dance ALL NIGHT! We knew she was a unique bride when she told us how her favorite color is purple, and that she would like to incorporate that in her wedding gown in some way. Initially, she pondered getting her gown dip dyed. But once she found the wedding dress of her dreams, her mom came up with a brilliant idea.
Her bridal gown features a remarkably detailed lace bodice, with lace eyelashes that accentuate her v-neckline and straps. The gown hits her at her empire waistline, which has a beautiful pleated belt that ties the bodice into the awesome taffeta ballgown skirt. On the backside of her gown, she carries exquisite and delicate buttons, which she turned purple. Caitlin knew she wanted a spark of her exuberant character shining through in her wedding dress and rocked those purple buttons. Caitlin informed us that she never envisioned herself in a ballgown wedding dress on her wedding day, and that her lace and taffeta ballgown wedding dress was beyond her expectations. The best things life are definitely the unexpected ones.
Caitlin tied the knot at the Vintage Rose in Orange, CA in the evening, at an all-indoor venue. The Vintage Rose is a stunning all-inclusive venue with the perfect mix of European charm with modern Californian flair. Before the ceremony, the couple shared their “first look” moment at a park nearby. The whole wedding was themed nerdy, with Harry Potter themes included. The flowers that the bridal party held were all made out of Harry Potter books, which were all handmade by her sister-in-law. The groomsmen wore superhero socks and the tables were specific nerdy things that represented this lovely couple.
The wedding was a true representation of who they are, showing how they both have never been afraid to express themselves. We also found out that her husband, and his close friends, brewed their own beer for the wedding, which was part of their bachelor’s trip. Everyone drank it, got into a huge circle, and was dancing the night away with huge bottles of beer on the dance floor. All took a shot together after they got married, right before they signed the documents. Her husband cried as she walked down the aisle to their favorite movie’s theme song, “UP”. Everyone was crying and so ecstatic to be there for this celebration!
Following her wedding, Caitlin said, “I just wanted to thank you so very much for helping me pick out my dress! This was the first and only bridal boutique I went to and everyone was so nice helping me try on and see different ways to wear the dress! I appreciate you all so much and I wanted to send you some pictures of the dress with the beautiful purple buttons! Everyone complimented the dress, my pockets, and my buttons! Thank you thank you thank you! Again thank you for making my special day just magical!”
We are so happy we had the pleasure of calling Caitlin our bride, and wish her and her hubby the absolute best in their journey ahead!
