I love those magazine articles that read "Eat This Not That", where they compare two dishes and show you how you save tons of fat and calories by choosing one over the other. Not that I always follow those suggestions, but it's just nice to know where you shave off a few calories if you want.
Well, I think of wedding dress shopping as being very similar. I love looking at the bridal magazines and watching shows like "Say Yes to the Dress". But I also know that $5,000+ wedding dress budgets aren't realistic for most of our Phoenix area brides. And that's ok. Because we can help you find that designer look for much less, in many cases.
Take these two gowns, for example:
It's a stunning wedding gown by Romona Keveza, which is, for most of us, a little more than we want to spend on our wedding gown. But in a few weeks, we'll get this equally stunning gown from Eden Bridals:
While not exactly the same, they have similar characteristics, from the fitted, ruched bodice to the flowered, mermaid skirt. And it'll be under $1200. And it's a fantastic dress for curvy and plus size brides with a proportionate hourglass shape.
Here's another example:
I love this soft, romantic wedding gown by Christos. It has a softly ruched bodice with sweetheart neckline, banded waist, and full skirt with applique. It's also expensive. So we have this similar wedding dress by Allure Bridals:
Again, it has many of the same characterists as the more expensive gown, but this retails for around $1000. This also makes a great plus size wedding dress because it will gently cammoflage hips on pear shaped bodies; the emphasis on the waist is great for nearly any shape.
Of course there is a difference in construction and materials between wedding dressses that cost $5,000 and those that cost $1,000. We fully admit that. We just want our Arizona (and beyond!) brides to know that they can look through the bridal magazines and drool over these couture wedding gowns and know that we can usually find a very similar look within their budget.
When you come in for your wedding dress shopping appointment at Strut bridal salon, you're always welcome to bring photos of your favorite gowns, even if it's from a designer we don't carry. We love to see what catches your eye!
