Ellie and Denver were married March 15th, 2021 in a Tangled-inspired wedding that was full of special moments! She shopped our Tempe, Arizona bridal store and worked with Brooke to find the perfect wedding dress.
Ellie chose a beaded spaghetti strap lace bodice ballgown with 3D flower and full tulle skirt. We asked about her wedding dress shopping experience and she wrote, “Well I came in with pretty low expectations, I had no doubt there were beautiful dresses but after having an unpleasant experience with other stores not having what I was looking for and also with stylists trying to box me into the “typical” plus size styles, I was really frustrated!
I met Brooke and right away she was amazing. You can really tell she loves what she does and she was a doll the whole way through each and every appointment. I showed her some inspiration pictures and she let my mom and I choose a few dresses and she chose one she had in mind for me after seeing the inspiration pictures.
When I walked into the fitting room and saw the one she chose, I already knew it was perfect and the one I was going to want, just the way it looked from the glitter to the flowers and the beautiful lace, it was just perfect. Each dress could have been a yes, I loved them so much. But the next dress I tried on was always better than the previous one and I was so in love with the last one on that I bawled my eyes out. I could imagine everything right then and there!”
We asked about her favorite wedding moment and she said, “Well, finally seeing my soon to be husband in his tuxedo smiling at me was such a beautiful feeling. He normally wears shorts and a tshirt so seeing him dressed so nicely with all of the bells and whistles was really awesome. Our first dance as well, my husband is in a wheelchair so just being able to dance in our own way was really touching. Not concerning my husband, my mother/daughter dance was really fun! We danced to a song we sing together a lot.”
Ellie and Denver were married at Arizona City First Baptist Church. She wrote, “We got up early and decorated so the inside was for the ceremony and the outside was for the reception! We had about 120 people there!”
We LOVE theme-inspired weddings! We asked about Ellie’s Tangle-inspired wedding and she added, “We didn’t want to be really obvious, no frying pans or horses or chameleon decor! But lanterns on the tables, a purple, pink, and yellow palette and I walked down the aisle to a harp cover of ‘I see the light’.”
Ellie and Denver’s other amazing vendors included Lena’s flowers and catering for their food, and Too Many Media for their photography and videography! She ended by saying, “All I really have to say is to keep doing what you’re doing. Your staff is so beautiful and kind to everyone and it felt like a really inclusive and happy place to be! It was such a breath of fresh air after my previous experiences!” Awww. Ellie, this just made our day! Your and your husband just look amazing for your big day! Congrats again!
