“So sweet.” That’s how all of our bridal stylists describe our Long Beach Strut Bride Nicole. We would fight over who got to work with her when she came in. So we were over the moon to get such amazing photos of her vintage and video game inspired wedding with incredible photos from Christine Bentley Photography.
Nicole wore a vintage inspired lace trumpet wedding gown in all ivory. Her wedding dress featured a strapless sweetheart neckline with beaded detail and lace appliques throughout. She custom added the lace cap sleeves during alterations. Nicole knew she wanted a fitted wedding dress or a sheath gown, but she was originally looking for a different style! She wrote, “Our photographer was the amazing Christine Bentley of Christine Bentley Photography, and our wedding was held at the fabulous Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach. Originally I was looking for a swing-style dress, but fell in love with the lace of the trumpet dress at Strut, and Vicki did wonders in adding sleeves and some extra modesty lace for me – it matched the dress almost exactly! I had so many compliments on my dress, everyone loved it! And I felt fabulous wearing it!”
She added, “We had a vintage and video game inspired wedding, with pixelated hand-made table numbers and swing dance style bridesmaid dresses, with bright, summer colors! We lucked out in booking a big band, The Fabulous Esquires so that our first dance was a slow dance and surprise swing dance combo that the band customized orchestrations just for our wedding, choreographed by the fabulous Rusty Frank. My mom and her friend made the most fantastic sweets table, which was both wedding and video-game perfect. Our big day was everything we’d hoped for, and thank you for making the dress part (which I had been dreading – I loathe clothes shopping) such an incredible and easy experience! I could go on forever, about all our details (My Dad hand-painted my swing shoes so they would be blue and white; the bakery, Sweet Traders, made the detail/ piping match the invitations that I designed! And the lighting and draping company, Impulse Events, offered a custom gobo package that allowed me to have a light design that was also based on the invitations!), so just let me know if there’s anything you want me to write or any other details included. I’ve attached a few pictures. Thanks, Tamiko! ”
