Strut bride Shannon came in to our Long Beach salon “on a whim” because she had a cousin who recommended she visit Strut after having a “really good experience.” Shannon worked with stylist Yulina who quickly pulled a few wedding gowns, one of which was the opposite of what Shannon had initially wanted. Of course that out-of-the-box, ornate wedding gown ended up being the one!
“The feeling I had when I put that dress on, I can’t put into words. I was never the type of girl to dream about my wedding or what my gown would look like but when I put that gown on and really saw myself it, it was like it was meant to be mine.”
Shannon had had an appointment scheduled at another bridal salon the next day, but because she had fallen so much in love with a Strut gown, she decided to cancel that appointment, come back in to Strut, show her family her favorite bridal gown, and say yes! Her ornate wedding dress featured a vneck plunge neckline, illusion v panels on the sides of the bodice, and a rich, textured skirt with beaded lace applique, sequins and more.
Fast-forward to Spring, and our bride was walking down the aisle to her groom. Shannon and Christopher got married at SeaCliff Country Club in Huntington Beach in front of one hundred and twenty-five guests. “SeaCliff’s events team was amazing on our first initial visit. They made us feel so comfortable and were a hundred percent confident that they could offer us everything we could ever imagine for our special day. That was the only tour we ever did for a venue.” Sounds like Shannon got lucky with each first place she went to first on her wedding-planning list!
The classic, romantic vibe that the bride was going for shone through the burgundy and gold color scheme with a beautiful intimate feeling for her bridal party and guests to immerse themselves in. “The first dance took place on the terrace outdoors under string lights” so how much more romantic could you get? Everyone moved to a ballroom for the reception, where the funniest part of the day occurred as the bride and groom went to cut their cake, but were so excited to try it that it nearly fell off the table. We get it, love birds, sometimes it’s all about dessert.
“My favorite moment from the wedding was our first look. We opted out of waiting until we walked down the aisle to see each other to spare my make up from being ruined. I didn’t end up crying on either of them but I was glad that we chose to spend those few minutes together without all the chaos. I was grateful for the peace it brought me before all the craziness really started happening.”
The Strut team is so happy to hear you had such a wonderful wedding, Shannon! Congratulations to you and Christopher, and we thank you again for letting us be a small part of your big day!
