We love hearing from our Strut brides and seeing how they looked on their wedding day. And Sarah was one of those unforgettable brides. Maybe because she met my family and didn't think it was odd that Strut Brother Cameron started a strange conversation about peregrine falcons as pets. In fact, she picked right up and gave him some facts. We love that she'd come in her park ranger uniform (was cool and official looking–she even carries a badge!) but transformed into, well, an absolutely beautiful bride.
Sarah and Sam got married at the Snowbowl in Flagstaff. We love the fall colors she incorporated. I think she even made the wood stump decorations. Here's proof that you don't need a lot of decorations when you have a naturally stunning setting for your wedding ceremony.
Sarah wanted the romantic look, so she chose a wedding dress from Anjolique. It's style number 2054. We'll just show you some photos of their wedding day (from Sierra Blanco). You can find more dress information at the end 🙂
Check out the placement of Sarah's veil in the photo above–it's tucked just under her up do. This is a less traditional way to wear a veil but still gives that romantic, "I'm a bride!" feeling. And, brides, it's a great compromise for when you have a mom, grandmother, dad or groom who insists you wear one, but you don't want the top-of-the-head, poufier veil look.
Love the ring shot–see how it incorporates the fall, woodsy theme? Beautiful.
We love the emotion of this shot, but we wanted to point out a couple of details for other brides:
- We recommend a manicure. Your hands will be in so many photos! Sarah's french manicure looks perfect.
- Consider false eyelashes. They just help define your eyes. Sarah has found a set that's totally natural looking.
We thought Sarah looked so beautiful in her dress. Anjolique 2054 is a trumpet wedding dress because it's more fitted through the hips and thighs and flares gently. The deep v neck design is flattering for athletic bodies (Sarah is a soccer player!), and she had the waist brought in to show it off.
One note: as a plus size wedding dress, Anjolique 2054 presents two challenges:
- The deep V won't provide a lot of support for a very large bust. You can have a privacy panel added to cover cleavage, but it will be super important (and a little bit difficult) to find the perfect bra to wear under it.
- The shape works well for fairly proportionate hourglass figures. It will not hide tummies.
Thanks, Sarah and Sam, for giving us a view of your big day, and for sharing photos of a beautiful, real, curvy bride!
