Lighting, linens, the perfect centerpieces… these are all great things to have. But nothing really sets the mood for your wedding reception quite like music can. No, really. It can turn a simple cocktail hour into a sophisticated soiree. Or a fun reception into a rockin' good time.
I recently had the pleasure of hearing Brian Chartrand on the guitar. Available solo, or as a duo or trio, he was amazing at a recent event at Noah's. He did a great job playing covers of your favorite songs by James Taylor, Elton John, Billy Joel, even Ben Harper.
After poking around for some links for you, I learned that he plays with a couple of local bands and is currently touring in Europe. While his YouTube links appeared to be broken, I have a CD at the store. I'm happy to pop it in and turn it up if you want to hear him! He also plays a ton of shows at local wine bars, so stop by for a glass to check him out live (I'm more than happy to go with! 🙂 ).
So let's recap. Brian = amazing musician for your wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, or reception. Leaving music to your Uncle Bob manning your iPod = not so great an idea. I know it cuts costs, but you can always find someone in your budget. A young local musician asked for just $100 to play our ceremony and cocktail hour. It was his first wedding. And he was worth 10x that.
