We are super excited to feature the lovely Christen! She shopped our Long Beach store in October of 2016 ready to find the plus size wedding dress of her dreams. She wanted a dress that made her feel confident on her special day. Christen told us that she wanted a plus size a-line or ballgown wedding dress. She also mentioned wanting lace and a little bit of bling. After a few “no’s,” Christen decided on a plus size a-line ballgown with an illusion neckline. She said it was perfect for her vintage romance affair.
Christen’s wedding gown by Callista Bridal featured vintage metallic lace scattered throughout the bodice and the skirt. The illusion neckline was hand beaded with freshwater pearls. The back of her gown also had buttons down the center and covering the zipper down the skirt.
We’re loving her gorgeous up-do! It really let the beading on the illusion neckline stand out!

Christen’s beautiful wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty! She was awesome enough to mention Strut. She wrote,
My dress! As a plus size bride, I was super lucky to have a few plus size bridal salons in the LA area. Strut (where I ended up buying my dress) had so many plus size gowns to choose from. I knew it immediately when I tried mine on (after having tried on probably upwards of 20). I felt beautiful, confident and like myself. On my wedding day, I knew I would be nervous. I needed that confidence in my gown to set me at ease to know that I really felt beautiful, which is what this dress did. I’ve never felt comfortable in a strapless gown, so when I found mine with an illusion lace neckline, it was just perfect. It also had vintage metallic lace, which coincidentally tied in with the vintage theme of the wedding day. The A-line style flattered me the most and ultimately, it was a no brainer.
Christian and Dominic said “I do” just a few months ago in August in Santa Monica. Her special day was captured by Anya Kernes. We must congratulate the beautiful couple.
