“Some journeys take us far from home, some adventures lead us to our destiny “- C.S Lewis the Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. We thought this quote was quite fitting to include in the blog for Marche and her husband Erek. Their wedding journey took them all the way to Lindon, Utah for the wedding of their dreams. Follow along to read all the details about how Marche and Erek’s Dungeons & Dragons meets The Chronicles of Narnia inspired wedding came to be.
Marche came to see us and shop our Tempe, Arizona bridal store in the fall of 2020 with her family. She had come from shopping at other bridal stores that made her feel less than confident, but with the help of her bridal stylist, Ronnie, Marche was able to finally determine exactly what it was she was looking for in a bridal gown. She came in with one vision, but left with something completely different! She rocked it. We are happy to announce that Marche said yes to her dream wedding dress!
Marche said yes to her beautiful blush pink ballgown wedding dress. Her wedding gown featured crisscross style straps, stunning lace pattern detailing throughout the bodice, and an amazing ruffled skirt with glitter and horsehair trim.
We asked Marche to tell us a bit about her bridal shopping experience and she wrote, “I went into dress shopping unsure because of the size I am. I am only 5’3 so getting something for someone big and short that didn’t make me feel like a potato was where the struggle was. I had gone to a couple other places looking but was unable to find something I felt confident in. My image I thought I would want was a long sleeve lace top and flowy bottom, basically covering everything up.
But after trying on multiple of those on I got discouraged and I described the bottom I wanted and the consultant had just gotten a dress in that day and went and pulled it for me, I was skeptical but the moment I put it on I fell in love. It was so different than I thought I wanted but it brought out parts of me that I love, I also loved that it was not solid white but it was pink. I had been feeling very washed out with all the white dresses.
Everyone I worked with at the shop was amazing, they were understanding of my needs and able to get me the dress back from alterations earlier than originally thought so that I could get my bridals done before traveling to Utah. “
Marche and Erek got married in September 2021 at Wadley Farms in Utah. She wrote, “Initially what drew me to this location was that one of the buildings is a castle. We were not able to use that building but I think our wedding turned out so much better in the ones that we did use. There were 2. One was where we held the ceremony and the other is where we had the reception, then we had the beautiful garden. “
“We did have a theme; we took one thing both of us love so for him it was the game dungeons and dragons and for me it was the Chronicles of Narnia. The venue we picked fit that theme being outside a castle. It was wonderful and the theme was not in your face. We kept it subtle so the centerpieces were these cute wire geometric shapes that happened to be the shape of the dice you use for Dungeons and Dragons and we had our florist fill them with flowers. “
Marche’s favorite moment of the day also ended up being the funniest part about her wedding day. It was the moment she walked down the aisle. She wrote, “I had everything set up beautifully with little signs going down the aisle, and as I walked down, I managed to knock every single one over. Successfully breaking the tension.” “I also really enjoyed the moment waiting to walk down the aisle, we had to wait for a few important people who were late so I was waiting with our lines and I got to share a really good heart to heart moment with his older brother, who was his best man.”
Congratulations to Marche & Erek and thank you for being a Strut Bride!
