Bob and I attended the Dallas Bridal Market last weekend. It was a blast–every girl’s dream.
All of our favorite dress manufacturers attend. They have “booths”, usually a big room, and bring in all of their spring dresses for us to ooooh and ahhh over. Some have more elaborate set ups with runways, sound systems, fancy chairs and food… even iPad stations to review photography.
Yep. Did I mention the food? One day there was even a cupcake trolley.
But I digress. There are a few reasons Bob and I go to market twice a year:
1. We get to see what’s hot and new. It’s important for us to know what the trends are so we can bring them to our brides.
2. We talk to them about what’s going on in their business (longer ship times, higher prices).
3. We talk to them about what WE need for our curvy and plus size brides. In this case, we’ve said goodbye to a couple of brands whose dresses just aren’t quite right for plus size brides. Our priority is to get flattering, beautiful dresses. If they don’t deliver on both, we move on.
As you know, there’s nothing like face to face interaction. Here’s a pic of me with one of our favorite reps, Ashley from Justin Alexander:
Finally, proof that Bob went, too… Here’s a shot of him crunching numbers:

This is so cool! Love being able to see how the show was and the process you go through when choosing dresses 🙂
