The newest Bridesmagazine shows some awesome slim wedding gowns for various shapes. They picked a gorgeous chiffon gown by Maggie Sottero for their "plus size bride". Here's the page (the plus size wedding dress is second from left):
The magazine's pick could be a great gown for beautiful plus size brides for three main reasons:
1. Emphasis on natural waist–the gown gives great definition at the waist line;
2. Arm coverage–the pretty flutter sleeves give brides good upper arm coverage;
3. Fabric–chiffon can be a pretty, drapey, forgiving fabric that effectively hides your mid-section.
But I took one look at the photo and said, "Really?! A great plus size wedding dress?" Can you spot the reason why?
The super low back. Yes, I thought, "How does my size 24 with a 44DD wear a bra with this?" While there are some low back long line bras, they often don't give enough support, and this wedding dress happens to feature a plunging neckline in the front, also, making it even harder to find the perfect bra.
We don't carry many v neck wedding dresses because their necklines tend to be too revealing. Though, if you have your heart set on one, we can always add a privacy panel to fill in the front and cover the cleavage a bit.
