Emily's email to us with wedding photos was titled, "My perfect wedding in my perfect dress :)" We get all warm and gooshy inside knowing our Strut Bride loved her wedding dress so much it still makes her smile (even in a subject line!).
She wrote:
"Just wanted to share some of the photos from my wedding with you and thank you once more for helping me find the dress that was just for me! Our wedding was traditional with a slight vintage feel. We got married in my home church on a lovely day in small town Iowa. I got tons of compliments on my gown. Thank you so much for having the patience to go through multiple gowns with me and help me to slowly make my decision! You're the best!"
Emily wore a trumpet gown in satin-backed taffeta, which gave it a rich sheen. It was fully ruched (a great style for a fitted plus size wedding dress!) with a sweetheart neckline and beading under the bust and on the side. Originally Emily's wedding dress was a corset back, but we changed it to a zipper for her.
Emily and Rick were married May 19th, 2012 in a Bloomfield, Iowa, church, with a reception following at a country club. Their colors were plum and blue. Her girls wore plum bridesmaid dresses while the men wore blue vests. You can also see some blue accent pieces in her wedding bouquet, above. We love the cool brick building below–it really sets off the plum!
We bet that big wedding party was a lot of fun and helped you two celebrate in style! Best wishes!
