Natalie sent us so many amazing wedding photos and details from her wedding! She wrote:
My favorite part of our day was seeing my husband’s reaction as I walked down the aisle! He was in full-on tears. The whole day was so emotional! We had been engaged two years, so we were beyond ready when our day finally came!
We were married in Madera, CA at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church. I had grew up in that church, my parents were married there as well. We actually got married the same day as my parents, November 14th. Theirs was in 1981 and ours 2019 of course. Reception was in doors at the Peters Brothers Banquet Hall in the same town. It had been recently renovated and it was beautiful and perfect. It is on the location of a nursery so we got to take photos in the garden. We had about 175 guests in attendance.
We work in Yellowstone National Park, so postcards from there were included on our center pieces. We loved our outdoors/woodsy theme, with a touch of Star Wars since we are huge fans!
My husband’s name is Jon, and any information I’m giving can be used. 🙂 The funniest part of our day was when my husband was giving a toast and he mentioned how he knew I would someday be his wife, because I stayed the night with him in the hospital when his appendix ruptured when we first started dating, and that the nurses snuck in thinking he was sleeping because they could hear me snoring down the hall. They came in and asked if he had gotten any sleep and he said, “No way!” LOL
So our lifestyle is traveling and working with the company Xanterra Travel Collection, who runs concessions inside a few national parks and different properties. So we had been working a winter in Grand Canyon South Rim and I had found out about Strut online. We went on one of our weekends just to try on some styles and see what looks good on me. I had always loved the romantic look, and my mom had a lace long sleeve gown when she got married. I wanted something traditional, but romantic and sophisticated. I’m 5’1, so I didn’t want to look like a little girl.
I made an appointment and let them know my budget, and they were all ready for me when I arrived. I had looked around a little, I wanted to try on different styles just to make sure long sleeves is what I really wanted. I believe I tried on 5 dresses, and when I tried on mine, it was a moment I will never forget. The woman I was working with got down on the floor literally to help me. I tried on mine one last time before I said yes, this is absolutely the one. It was stunning. On my big day I felt confident, beautiful, and the best I have ever felt in my life.
A few days after our wedding, I went to take pictures in my dress at my dad’s gravesite. My husband was a huge help and so eager to help me get some beautiful shots. This is where he proposed as well, so my dad’s gravesite is a beautiful, touching place for both of us.
Thanks for allowing me to share my experience with you!!! My whole day I felt like an absolute queen, and it was all because of my confidence in my beautiful, one of a kind dress!!!
Awwww, thanks Natalie. We LOVED the Star Wars detail shots – it’s such a fun way to personalize your wedding! Congrats to you and Jon!
